I took this class in May of this year, not knowing at the time that I did not have valid ID, so I could NOT take the tests then. I called Shelle once I got my ID issues fixed and asked to repeat the class without having to pay again, and even though I had NOT met the requirements to do so, the Manager remembered my situation and said "Absolutely! We've got your back"!
So now I can get my tests done! This November class was very like the May class was, the instructor provided insight to questions that may pose the most trouble to understand through practical examples. He did a good job of explaining each section and it helped learning more about each subject than just what the right answer was. I scored between 80% & 88% on my tests. Not only was this an adequate preparation, but by taking this class Online I was able to participate in the class from home, which was big factor in choosing which course to take. I estimate saving up to $2000 by attending class Online, I highly recommend this class!

The instructor was very knowledgeable and I feel his presentations are the sole reason I was able to pass my exams. He was very thorough and helped my recall of the subject matter tremendously. He also conveyed the course material with precision and made sure all of the students were on the same page before moving on. The course material itself was spot on. In class we covered all of the important information, in order to bring it all together while studying later each night. I would say that my experience was pleasant and I would refer anyone I knew that was looking to get their license. I can’t think of anything I would change about this course it was exactly the preparation I needed. I liked the online structure because I did not want to travel somewhere and stay in a hotel for 2-3 weeks. It was exactly what I was looking for. I think I saved up to $4000 or more, by taking this class online, and I Very Highly Recommend it!

I’m just cleaning up all my emails before I retire and I don’t recall ever notifying you that I passed my O&P Exams and got my A&P. It was a great course and I’ve highly recommend it every time someone asks. A lot of active duty guys in my same situation keep reaching out to me but they keep getting hung up on the fact that its online and not hands-on. I’ll keep pushing it though and try to break that mentality. I had the same worry when I signed up for the course, but you guys couldn’t have made it any easier to take the written/oral/practical. I liked the presentation of the instructor. He broke it down to a level that was easy to understand for everyone, and we didn’t move on until we all understood. The instructor had multiple good ways to convey the course information. The course material was good because it covered the hard parts of the different subjects. This class was great, I passed all 3 written tests the FIRST TIME, my lowest score was 85%, while my friend went to a Different Company’s Course that was more than two times as expensive, and failed 4 of his written tests. I wouldn’t change the class I took, this Online Class was exactly the preparation I needed. I enjoyed that this is a “Big Boy Program”, you have to put in the time and dedication, to listen and study the material, and I also saved about $3000. Very Highly Recommended!

I forgot to put one of the most important things in my opinion on my critique and I hope this makes sense... most classes have class time and then you go home and study either the test guide books that you have to buy, or the asa prepare apps. That isn't a horrible way to do it but Shelle has completely blown them out of the water, with how you have your study guide setup to where you’re studying the correct answers. The way Shelle Aviation has us study, incorporates the correct answers, and by doing that our heads aren't filled and confused with the wrong answers. I was pretty impressed with class being conducted through the internet. 1st time for me. Jake Jacobs was a fantastic instructor. He was pretty thorough with the subjects and extremely knowledgeable. Very patient and answered every question that any of the students presented to him. He was very thorough with the material being presented and even while I was testing some of the class information stuck with me, which was a big benefit during the tests. it had been nearly 2 years since I studied any of this material, but with this class and it’s weekend classroom sessions, it seemed as if it had only been a couple of days ago. The handbook and CD was very helpful and very convenient to use at home and the Library. I really like the breakdown of the Material and the information at the end for the O&P, the way it was broken down to us" Barney Style" seems like it is going to make the O&P a lot more comfortable, to approach it with great preparation for it. I am glad that I made the decision to go forward with this program I think it's making it much easier for me to tackle the exams and get my A&P license. I highly recommend Shelle Aviation’s Course! The instructor was very knowledgeable and explained concepts well, describing subject material from the ground up. I enjoyed the visual teaching aids, it helped me comprehend and visualize concepts I have not previously had experience with, (i.e. Props, magnetos, generators etc). Because I was familiar with some subject material, some explanations weren't very interesting or "new" for me. However, the material that I didn't know (and the reason behind me taking this course, to learn it) were explained thoroughly and in a way I understood it. Helpful class, couldn't have passed my written tests without it!

The instructor had an excellent way of turning complex questions into simplistic explanations. The hands-on presentation technique with charts and arrows help the flow of information. I don’t think the course needs any change. I saved about $1000 minimum, and highly recommend their classes!

It is a great review! The instructor was always prepared for the days material and was very informative. I wish they would extend the class days, make them longer! (NOTE - Shelle Aviation is adding 1 additional hour of class time per day for Online Courses, 1.5 hours per day for Onsite Courses, in direct response to this student suggestion). "I saved a lot of money taking it Online! I checked on 2 or 3 other schools and they said 18 months to complete and $6700 on the average in costs, not counting gas and time. I highly recommend Shelle Aviation’s classes!"

The instructor was very articulate, and conveyed his knowledge in aircraft and the test materials very well. The class material was presented in a way that was easily understood, & any questions were accurately answered by the instructor. The only suggestion I have would be to highlight correct answers in the study materials, to aid in only studying the correct answer, I have a tendency to read everything, and by highlighting the material it helped me focus. (Shelle Comment: We have already implemented Shannon’s excellent suggestion!) The main benefit for me of taking the Online Class was not taking time off work, and I figured I also saved between $1200-1700, for extra costs associated with traveling, plus the loss of wages. I Highly Recommend this class!!

Fantastic, my instructor Jake explains things in ways that are very easily understood, and the school goes over preparing you for the tests extremely well, whereas my original FAA Part 147 School did not even explain what to expect when going for your O and P exams. Great presentation technique, the course material is very well put together. I was very impressed with this organization. I would recommend this school to anyone that is getting ready for their Orals, Practicals, & Written exams, and I wouldn’t change anything about the class. Taking it online did not interfere with my current job, and although I’m not sure how much it saved me, it was definitely a ton of money. Highly Recommended!!

The instructor was friendly and able to provide a wide variety of examples that I could relate to. The materials that were included seemed to be relevant and useful, I thought they were very helpful. It did get kind of hard to balance work, two other college courses and this A&P course, but I just needed to focus on one thing at a time. Some of the benefits I got from taking the Online Class were it didn't cost me as much. I think it saved me at least $2000.00 by not having to pay for travel, food or lodging, and because I could do it from home it made it easier for me to focus. I Highly Recommend this class!!

The entire class was excellent! The course materials were very enlightening; the instructor was engaging and informative. I wouldn't change the course at all. One of the benefits of this class was not just preparing me for the exams, but actually learning and understanding the material, and the processes of various systems/ components. I think taking the Online class saved me several thousand dollars! I will be highly recommending Shelle Aviation!
**Got my License today, took the class in May and passed my O&P in June**. When I emailed Shelle Aviation to let them know, they asked “Have you any additional thoughts or insight for the O&P that we might pass on to future students?” Yes, I do and here they are; “Don't stress about it. Study, study, study! Know the questions, and having a good understanding of the aircraft systems and components is always a good thing! My test was not as bad as I was expecting, but I do believe the study materials provided by Shelle Aviation had an immense help with what to expect! I can't say thanks enough! They made it very easy to comprehend all the essential information needed, in a way that was suitable for everyone in class. The presentation of all the information was very professional, clear, and to the point. I thought the course material was perfect for this class and provided all the essential information and details needed to make it a smooth process of obtaining my license. I wouldn't change anything about this Online Class and I don't think taking an Onsite Class and sitting in a physical classroom would have benefited me any better. I enjoyed being able to attend class while still working full time and not having to take vacation time, and pay ridiculous amounts of money to travel and stay in a hotel. This class saved me at least $1200 in tuition, $1000 in travel and lodging, and another $500 in related expenses. I Highly recommend this class!
P.S. When I took my Oral & Practical I didn't have any problems, the class and all of the study materials for the O&P were right on topic. Shelle Aviation's Online Class is definitely the way to go! I said it before and I will again, I highly recommend them!

The instructor was superb at conveying the course material in a simple and understandable way. Very fluid in his manner of presenting the material and keeping the class moving at a comfortable pace. Also the use of props and comparative examples helped significantly with my understanding of the course material. The course material was rich, educational and was presented in a streamlined fashion making it easy to learn. Navigating through the handout and study materials was nicely complemented by the info presented during class time. Class was enjoyable, stress free and relaxing to take it form the convenience of my own home. I think it would be a great if there was a Shelle Aviation app for smart phones and tablets that still require internet connectivity but allowed for more variation in study methods of the required materials. I realize it would be a big investment for them but it would be a great enhancement to an already enjoyable a productive course. I really can't think of any major benefit to taking an onsite class, being home and not having to travel to a set location everyday was a big plus. Compared to other AMT Prep Schools I researched, this one saved me around $3000-$4000. I Highly Recommend Shelle Aviation's Online A&P Class!!

Taking the class online affords the opportunity to apply the lessons on your own time and gives you the flexibility to get the testing done without putting your life on hold for 2 or 3 weeks.The Online class allowed me more flexibility, I didn't have to take time off work, I didn't have to travel, and I could take class in my PJ's, plus I saved roughly $2k I think, plus whatever I would have spent at the bar with other classmates, I highly recommend it.

I did not have a good grasp on many subjects and our instructor was able to break the information down to a level which was easily understood. Carburetion and Magnetos were very informative. Still struggling on electrical but now have a good base in which to work with. I don't think the class would have been any different if taken in person. Online illustration was simple and easy to understand. Taking this class Online allows for flexibility of budgets or money constraints, and saved me time, travel and housing costs. I saved a lot of money, it would have been around $2400 for a class I had to travel to. Overall great class, I would recommend it.

The instructor in this class conveyed information well, he related information with common everyday use scenarios. Fast paced but ensured the information sticks in your head. Very effective! It focused on the questions I had trouble with while studying. When life got in the way after graduating from a part 147 school, this course gave me a good kick start, and refresher, on the material I had studied before. This Online Line Class saved me $2500 in Travel, Lodging, Meals, Tuition, etc. I Highly recommend this to graduates of a part 147 school that have been away from studying for a period of time. Also, would highly recommend to any military aviation personnel that are able to get authorization to test with their MOS.

There is no way I would have passed my 3 written A&P tests & O&P Exams without the 3 weekends spent prepping with Shelle Aviation and their syllabus! Although I have 17 yrs experience on F-16's, I learned a lot during those 3 weekends! I put in a lot of studying prior to each test at home, but the course more than paid for itself. I passed each test on my first attempt due to what they teach. I would recommend the online course to any military aircraft mechanic prior to taking the test. 17 yrs experience on Military aircraft, and I would have failed every test without Shelle Aviation's Online A&P Course. It was a good class, I wouldn't change anything about it, it was just what I needed to prepare for the exams, and probably saved me at least $800 in cost by attending it Online, I highly recommend it!
